As more of our students are coming online to do their piano lessons, the lesson format will now develop accordingly.

These online piano lessons will ensure all your needs are met but will also require assistance from parents to ensure the correct equipment is available to the children at home who are having online lessons with us.

Please refer to the following equipment list below which may be gradually adjusted and added to. This will ensure the teaching process is conducted as smoothly as possible.

In order to join a zoom meeting, you must have…

A metronome, either free standing or inside the digital piano / keyboard.

Please ensure that you turn the metronome bell off.

A touch sensitive 88 note piano or touch sensitive 61 keyboard for children under 11.

Mobile phone headphones with Microphone plugged into your zoom device

A music rest or music stand for their books and sheet music.

A keyboard stand to ensure the instrument is Archtect correct height and the it can

A pencil

A Grade 1 sight reading book

As with our music school, parents are encouraged to observe the lessons but not interact with their child during lessons unless directed to help by the teacher, this encourages independence.

For students aged 6 & over, studying up to their ABRSM Grade 3 piano exam, lessons on zoom will be 30 minutes and these will be one to one lessons. These lessons will be charged in blocks of 8, £396, £49.50 per lesson.

Block bookings through private arts organisation’s will enable students to receive lessons at reduced rates, £140 for a block of 8 lessons, £17.50 per lesson.

During the lessons, additional observation slots for parents with children, will enable other students to listen in to the lesson but not participate or be heard.

The teacher will manage these additional slots without interrupting the student who is engaged in the lesson.

These practice session slots for parents and children observing will be half price and will be available to new students wanting their children to join and for students or who may need motivation to practice.

For parents wanting to be involved with the pilot scheme as passive participants, a monthly option of £25 per month on direct debit will ensure that you are informed and accepted into all of the zoom teaching rooms when required.
